Shop expansion!

Lots and lots of wholesalers around that stock exactly what I wish to sell and their prices are pretty good too so I decided to expand the shop into sterling silver, bling and more childrens bits and pieces. The only problem now is having the funds to purchase what I want!

Mens jewellery should be re-stocked within the next few weeks as I've found a reliable supplier that sells good quality steel chains, etc, not just the usual surfer style necklaces.

Friendly business competition?

Sometimes it's very disheartening when you try hard to make a great website, price your items so they don't break the bank and get the orders out as fast as you can - then some people decide it's their aim in life to attempt to bring you down!

I would accept negative criticism if I've messed up an order in any way and then would really try to make amends, but if you have never bought anything from me then how can you know what my customer service is like or what quality my products are?

So the person (if they bother to read this!) who decided to give my site a negative score without ever having purchased anything from the online shop can go to hell! Your IP has been blocked so you cannot ever use my site again.

Personally I believe the lovely(!) non customer has their own shop selling jewellery themselves and decided to run down the competition as I've noticed the same undeserved comments on a few of my business friends websites - all made roughly around the same times/dates!

Well, the comment was untrue and vindictive, it has been removed as has the similar comments made on the friends business sites I've mentioned. Now, is it libel when lies are written rather then spoken?!!

Happy new year!

Happy new year!

Last year ended with a lot of sales through november and december, much better than last year so hopefully all my hard work with the advertising is paying off!

I've just had some more postcards printed so these will be going out within the next week to new customers and new stock emails out to current customers, both with different special offers available for first time orders & returning customers.

Starting to list the summery type jewellery now - shell necklaces etc, always makes me feel that warm weather is just around the corner - until I read the newspaper and learn that more snow is on the way!!! Hate snow, taking the kids out to build snowmen and have snowball fights always ends up with me being the only person in the family to have snow down the back of my neck, in my shoes and generally everywhere whilst the kids have rosy cheeks and just wet gloves! Maybe I should be thinking of improving my aim and learning to duck!

Rotten Apples!!

It's a pity but I'm having to change the shop policy for replacing and refunding on missing parcels. Royal Mail do pay compensation for missing parcels after 15 days of non delivery so long as you have the proof of postage and the receipt showing how much postage you paid - there is a form to fill in with the seller and buyer details, then the buyer is contacted by Royal mail and asked to confirm non-delivery - fair enough. The only problem with this procedure are the buyers who decide the issue is closed as they have had their items replaced or have the payment refunded by myself!!

Brilliant! So I lose the cost of the item(s) I replace or the refunded payment plus the postage I paid due to customers that cannot be bothered to sign and post a simple form! Thanks!!! Considering Paypal (if used) would not automatically refund the customer when the proof of postage is provided as they then regard the fault as not the sellers and case closed!

Anyway, rant over. The new shop policy will be to NOT refund payments or replace any items until Royal Mail have received the signed form back from the customer, sorry to all those customers that are honest and would take matters to their final conclusion but a few rotten apples spoil the barrel for everyone.

Parcels in transit.

Very annoyed today. Another parcel has now been 'lost' between being posted and the final destination! How can packages get lost? Do people see items of post laying around on the floor and say "oh look, an item of mail" and walk away?

I understand human error - sending an item to the incorrect county, etc, but said item should eventually get to where it is supposed to be even if it arrives weeks late!

As all my parcels are sent with the packaging slip (clearly showing the address) within a plastic stick on sleeve on the front of the package, a return address label on the back plus a copy of the packaging note inside the parcel (in case all the addresses are ripped off somehow! then the package can be opened by authorised postal workers and sent on to their destination or returned to myself). So how are my packages lost?

I read in the news occassionally that postal workers do get charged with stealing mail, maybe the CCTV needs to be updated to prevent more of this happening!

Time to fill out another 'lost' package claim form and replace the order to the customer - this time by recorded delivery!

It's a good job I always get the proof of postage stamped so hopefully I get the item cost refunded by the delivery service - sometime in the next 3 months - if I'm lucky!
